Best in Wrinkles

By Sarah Bryant, Fellowship Bible Church, Rogers, Celebrate Recovery Devotional Team writer, 2/26/20 The other night I was flipping through the channels and saw something that caught my eye. It was The American Rescue Dog Show. Being a rescue dog owner, myself, I had to see what it was all about, and, of course, quickly got sucked in. This was not your typical dog show where high-dollar, purebred, pedigreed pooches were perfectly groomed and trained to prance around the ring on command for the coveted “Best in Show” title. It did follow the same format, but these dogs were mixed-breed, once (or twice) abandoned and unwanted, some still a little rough around the edges. But there they were, standing proudly with their now (even prouder) “fur-ever” owner, in a beautifully decorated ring, being cheered by the crowd. And unlike a traditional dog show, the prizes being awarded were for categories like “Best in Snoring,” “Best in Couch Potato,” “Best in Ears,” an especially heart-warming

Chain Breaker!

By Carl Kimbro, Fellowship Bible Church Rogers Celebrate Recovery Devotional Team writer, 2/19/20 “If you’ve been walking the same old road for miles and miles. If you’ve been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies. If you’re trying to fill the same old holes inside, there’s a better life, there’s a better life.” Chain Breaker by Zach Williams Most of us know the words to that song by heart. It’s a CR crowd favorite. But in times of pain, it’s easy to forget the truths found in this song. It’s so easy to forget where I’m at/going, and dwell on where I’ve been. It’s at that point I wrap my former chains back around me. But, the freedom I found in Christ is still there! It hasn’t gone away even if I have forgotten it. When I forget to focus on my freedom, prayer is my answer! David is a Bible “hero” for me. Unlike me, when surrounded

By Kareena Holloway, Fellowship Bible Church, Rogers, Celebrate Recovery Women's Encourager Coach “Slowpoke!”  “Lolly-gagger!”  Oh yeah, I've heard those words before. As a kid I was never in a rush to do anything. I always wanted to take my time, savor the moment, take all of the information in, and get the most of the moment so that the memory would last!    Fast-forward (we'll just say a few years!) to when I started Celebrate Recovery. I was so ready and on fire for change that I lost that "take it slow" mentality and suddenly wanted to hurry through!!  I jumped into the first step study that was available, and as soon as the subject of inventory came up I was all over it!  Despite my Sponsor's advice to    S L O W   D O W N    I jumped in and started filling out my inventory sheet before it was time! I got about half way down the sheet, listing the people who had hurt me growing up, and the bad choices I had made as an adult, and suddenly I
