Deep Calls to Deep

By Brookelynn Harper, Fellowship Bible Church Rogers Celebrate Recovery Landing Resident and Devotional Team writer, 06/17/20 One time, when I was younger, I went out to spend some time at the lake with my friends. It was a beautiful day – blue skies, hot sun – perfect for some time on the water. Everyone else thought so too. We couldn’t go twenty seconds without seeing another boat . Now, I was swimming in the water, having the time of my life. Pretty soon, though, I was called back to the boat for lunch. I turned back. In a second, the fun went away. I was much farther away from the boat than I thought I was. As I paddled back, every wave made by the jet skis and speedboats all around me seemed to push me further and further away from the ladder hanging from that distant, floating sanctuary. I was already tired, and I kept being push forward, backwards, sideways by the choppy waves. I began to feel afraid, and embarrassed. The water got in my mouth, and I wondered if I would drown

Being Still

By LaDwana Whittenberg, Fellowship Bible Church, Roger, Celebrate Recovery TEAM Training Coach, 6/10/20   Over the past few weeks of having more down time than I’m accustom to, I’ve learned that being still doesn’t always look the same for everyone. I can “be still” and go for a walk with my niece and take pictures of nature, enjoying the amazing flowers, trees, and waterfalls in the vastness of God’s creation. In those verses Jesus says, “Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? So, which one of you by worrying could add anyth

By Kareena Holloway, Fellowship Bible Church Ministry TEAM Women's Encourager Coach, 6/3/20 How are you coping with this tough time in quarantine?   When recently asked, Susan, one of our great devotional writers had the following to say about how she’s been doing “There are a couple things I've done to cope with the lifestyle changes I've experienced. I'm not the most social person, so I haven't felt lonely. I have, however, had to take good care of myself mentally and emotionally because of negative self-talk. I've focused on finishing projects that I've started over the last year or so. I'm painting a china hutch a pretty blue color to match my bedroom, which I am slowly redecorating. I also have taken up a new hobby involving piecing together broken china. I've also taken one of my dogs through obedience training. Lastly, my kids and I are spending lots of time together.” So, how are you? We are all finding different ways of coping.   To keep
