Knock Knock!

Image
By Eric Hutchinson, Fellowship Rogers CR Training Coach, 6/23/21 I recently read Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.”    Many ministers use this verse to evangelize or share the gospel truth of salvation through Christ. While it is true that Jesus is always inviting the lost to come to repentance through Him that is not what this verse is talking about. This scripture was for the Church at Laodicea. These were Christians that were riding the fence between living for Christ and living for the world. Jesus called them lukewarm. Verse 20 is an incredible visual of Christ standing at the door of our heart, asking to come in and fellowship with us. Let’s break it down.    “Here I am!” I love these first three words as they show the Creator of the universe giving me attention and desiring my attention.    “I stand at the door and knock.”  Wow! He is knocking.

Thanking God for My Scars

By Sarah Bryant, Fellowship Bible Church Rogers CR Devotional Team, 6/16/21 I remember way back in March 2020 when the pandemic started to disrupt our lives, and everyone was afraid of being  quarantined for fourteen days? Back then,  fourteen days seemed like an eternity, and I was concerned about what I would do if I were to be stuck in the house for that long. So I bought a book in case I needed to pass the time.     I have a hard time allowing myself to read fiction books, because I feel like I need to be “more productive” with my time. I guess it’s my perfectionism coming out, but I almost always seek out non-fiction, history books so I can still be learning something in my “off” time. So I bought a book on D-Day. It’s a great book, but as the pandemic progressed, along with everything else going on in the country, I decided a few days ago that I needed to read something a little more upbeat and fun. As I aimlessly wandered through the unfamiliar, non-fiction section I came upon

Tell Your Story!

By Carl Kimbro, Fellowship Bible Church Celebrate Recovery Devotional Team, 6/10/21 A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to the 7 year old daughter of someone who attends Celebrate Recovery. I asked her where her dad was, and she said: “Oh, he is probably sharing the Gospel with someone he just met.” She said it like it was such a common occurrence that he couldn’t possibly be doing anything else. I looked around for him, and he was doing just that! What a great example of principle 8 that man is to his daughter! Finding the strength and courage to share our faith is not easy. Often times fear gets in the way. We believe others who knew us before recovery will laugh. “Isn’t this the guy who was drunk all the time?” “Isn’t this the women who used drugs?” We may want to share our recovery story with others, but our shameful past can make us think we aren’t worthy to share the good news of Christ. If you are that person who struggles to share your story, I want to offer some encouragement

Thank You!!

By Kareena Holloway, Fellowship Bible Church Celebrate Recovery TEAM Encourager Coach, 6/2/21 To every person who serves, we are extremely thankful for how you give back what you have freely received! 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 gets into talking about the importance of service. I've quoted it below for your reference. No matter how little, how big, how short, or how long your act of service is, it plays a very important part in what helps to spread the overall message that we are the body of Christ and that we are all doing our part. Please know that you each are so very important, that you matter , and that you are precious ! If you or a loved one is in need of prayer this week let us know so we can lift you or them up!! If you're reading this in the Rogers, Fayetteville Arkansas area, we hope to see you Friday night at Celebrate Recovery! 1 Corinthians 12:12-27: Unity and Diversity in the Body 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body
