Glorious

"You make everything glorious, and I am yours!  What does that make me?" (Listen to it HERE )

Those lyrics from David Crowder's "Everything Glorious" pose a very good question.

Read it again..and really think about it!  Now here's the question:

If God makes everything glorious, what does that make you?

The truth is out! You are glorious! God is glorious, and you are His.

I know that there are times when you don't feel anything near glorious, because of current situations, or perhaps because of mistakes you have made and you're having a hard time forgiving yourself.  I want to encourage you to remember WHO you are.  You are not your mistakes! Your past does not define you!

Ephesians 2:1-9 tells us that we've been made alive in Christ!  Take a look:

"1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh
2:3 In contexts like this, the Greek word for flesh (sarx) refers to the sinful state of human beings, often presented as a power in opposition to the Spirit.
and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast."

What or rather WHO defines you is God, and in all things, at all times, and in all places, you are His beloved child. You are HIS glorious creation. You have purpose! Nothing can change that!

Let's take a look at Ephesians 2:10 together:
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

We are created in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago!

If things are tough right now, if you've been hurt, if you feel lost, if you feel unworthy of forgiveness, if you feel like He doesn't see or hear you, let me remind you of some great truths..that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), He hears your cries(Psalm 18:6), He loves you and He died for you (Romans 5:8) and you are one of the redeemed (Isaiah 43:1).

Come see us at Celebrate Recovery where you will hear these truths about yourself and God. He wants you to be restored, friend.  God's truth is where the healing begins. We hope to see you soon!

18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the LORD's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the LORD, who is the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:18
