You Are Glorious!

"I know you are, but what am I??"

I remember when I would hear that…maybe even say that at times growing up. When I'd say it back then, as a kid, I'd mean it as a way to fire back after receiving an insulting comment from another. However, today it brings conviction, because, to know who I am in Christ is easy. I know that to Him, I matter, I am a glorious, loved, beautiful, precious, adored child of the most High King! But to turn that around and look at myself in the mirror and say those same words has been a challenge from time to time. I am guessing that if it’s been hard for me from, it’s probably been hard for you too!

Let me assure you of something:

God is so good all the time. His love for you and me has never changed even in our darkest sins! Yes, even as a parent would tell their child, God says to you and me "Your sin does not make me love you any less."

God says this to us:
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18

Maybe you've accepted that in the past, but the enemy creeps up and starts to tell you that you're not good enough, you're not worthy, you've gone too far to ever really come back. HOWEVER, Jesus Christ says your sins are forgiven! He loves you with such a deep love that He literally died for you.

YOU ARE PRECIOUS! YOU MATTER!!

When I begin to doubt God’s love for me I rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus, and keep coming back to His truth. I reach out to my CR family, and then I share with them the victory Jesus has given me over the enemy.  I speak truth over the lies, pray for my sisters and brothers and lift them up in the name of Jesus. I think about the newcomers who will come to CR for the first time on Friday, and I pray for them to hear the truth that they so desperately need to hear.

"Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand.
But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image."

2 Corinthians 3:12-18 (New Living Translation)

Oh, and by the way, I know you matter, you are glorious, loved, beautiful, precious, adored…a child of the most High King!

And I know that I am too!
